About Us
Welcome to Martsolf Design
Thank you for stopping by! I’m Mark Martsolf, the designer and hands behind everything you see here. Originally from New England, I chased my passion out West, drawn by sunny beaches and a dream of becoming the next James Taylor. Although that didn’t quite pan out as planned, my love for music and playing music is alive and well. Along the way, I found a different way to create—through my art.
Under the Martsolf Design name, each of these branches has grown out of my dedication to crafting unique pieces and reimagining everyday materials into art that’s one-of-a-kind and mindful of the environment.
Cathedral Candles
Cathedral Candles started just before the pandemic, sparked by my childhood memories of helping my mom create candles and glass holders. Today, I use a mix of stained glass and repurposed materials to design pieces that are both personal and environmentally friendly, keeping durable glass from filling up landfills. Each candleholder has its own story, crafted with care, and just waiting to bring a warm glow to your space.
Small Drawings in Small Frames
In this series, I draw with simple, sometimes complex geometric shapes on matte paper saved from autoclave tests. Mounted on foam core and set in 6x6 wooden frames, these drawings fit perfectly into small spaces that need a splash of character. I will match any color you desire!
Friendly Clocks
The Friendly Clocks series brings new life to leftover materials from my grouting work with Cathedral Candles. These clocks come in various shapes and sizes, each with a clock embedded in the face. They’re fun, unique, and a little quirky—perfect for adding a small touch of creativity to any room.
Lanterns
Made with stained or recycled glass panels, these lanterns add ambiance anywhere you place them—indoors by the fireplace, outdoors in the garden, or wherever you need a soft glow. Each piece brings a warm, handcrafted look to your space, lighting up even the smallest corners with a colorful touch.
I hope you find something here that speaks to you. If you have questions or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out via the contact page. Thanks again for visiting Martsolf Design!
