“Purple Lotus” is a handmade stained glass candleholder made with deep purple, soft pink and textured clear glass.
The design is abstract, but the shapes, in my opinion, suggest lotus petals rising through the piece. White grout separates the individual pieces of glass and gives it a lighter appearance when unlit.
When the candleholder is illuminated, the white grout becomes dark and acts as negative space, while the purple, pink and clear glass glows from within. The pattern continues around all four sides, so the appearance changes as the piece is turned.
Each piece is designed and made by hand and is one of a kind.
